Shibori Workshop

In addition to all the fun things that go along with attending a large quilt show, I participated in a shibori workshop yesterday with Glennis Dolce, Shibori Girl, at the Long Beach Quilt Festival.  We only had three hours, but thanks to the instant gratification from using ColorHues dyes, we were able to stitch, pole wrap, clamp and dye small pieces silk to learn the basics of shibori.  I have done some shibori, but mostly using Procion MX dyes on cotton.  So being able to dye my silk fabric five different colors in less than two minutes seemed to be appropriate to a three-hour workshop.

I came home with the following three little samples, ready to dive in to my next shibori workshop, scheduled for August 21-22.
